Are you an Urban Hipster, a Hippie Dreamer or Natural Escapist?
SELANGOR, MALAYSIA – The launch of Jotun Global Colour Trends 2018 today at the Oval
Concourse of 1 Utama Shopping Centre introduces three colour themes: CITY MOTIONS,
SILENT SERENITY and LUSH GARDEN. The themes are designed to illustrate the breadth of interior styles that reflect the identities of the diverse inhabitants of every global city. Malaysia is
the first market in South East Asia to reveal the Jotun Global Colour Trends 2018: Rhythm of
Life. The three colour themes are the result of extensive time and expertise invested by colour
and trend experts of the Jotun Colour Team in Norway- led by Jotun Global Colour Manager, Lisbeth Larsen.
The 2018 edition of Jotun Global Colour Trends: Rhythm of Life, brings to life the 3 distinct
rhythms for the contemporary home: CITY MOTIONS, SILENT SERENITY and LUSH
GARDEN. By perfectly capturing the mood of each theme and showcasing the unique power of
colour to shape the visual rhythm of a room, the themes provide inspiration to home-owners and
home designers of all walks of life everywhere – hipsters, hippies and otherwise.
We shift into different stages of our lives and groove to our ever-changing personal beat- a
rhythm that influences how we live, the choices we make, and the way we look at the world and
at ourselves. The colours presented in Rhythm of Life provide a mix-and-match palette to suit
your personality. And, when your style or circumstances alter, you can take advantage of colour’s remarkable power to transform the atmosphere of a room, and change your shade to
create a space that best reflects who you are today.
“Our research identified three trends that are common to inhabitants of every global city:
our longing for the restorative power of nature; our dream of a calmer, slower-paced
way of life in the sun; and our desire to make the most of our increasingly compact urban
living spaces in minimalist but creative ways. We’ve designed our colour card as a tool
to help people express these impulses in their homes – mixing and matching the colours
in the way that best reflects their own identity and rhythm of life,” Lisbeth Larsen, Jotun Global
Colour Manager.
Jotun’s new colour themes are a great way to approach the mood-shifting nature of design and
colours. The themes allow you to create and capture a distinct temperature, feeling and atmosphere to best reflect you.
“Jotun is at the forefront of product and colour innovation, constantly striving to exceed
expectations through delivery of high quality products and long lasting colours to skyscraping
iconic buildings as well as home interiors.” Managing Director of Jotun Malaysia & Singapore,
Eric Mallace said today. He continued, “Year-round, Lisbeth (Larsen) and her team in Norway
tap into design trends in global cities, pour through research reports from across the World and look at the ways in which our lifestyles are changing with the modern world; all to predict- and
then create the colours made available to home designers today. We are so proud to have
Malaysia be the first market in Southeast Asia to reveal Jotun’s Global Colour Trends of 2018.”
These themes are each designed to both reflect the realities of modern living and inspire the
imagination. The Jotun Global Colour Trends 2018: Rhythm of Life collection of 32 shades provides designers with an interior palette that’s as suited to homes across the world.
